A Watery Inspiration

Handwoven beaded wearable art created by Jacquie Champion and inspired by the beautiful and peaceful Sea of Cortez, Baja Sur, Mexico. During my year long adventure sailing down the coast from Vancouver Canada, aboard our sailing vessil Angelique of Vancouver, to the Sea of Cortez we saw many beautiful bays with white sandy beaches abundant with sea life. The Sea of Cortez provided many of the shells incorporated into my designs and inspired the range of colours.

The variety ranges from dinner forks smoothly curled around semi-precious stones made into pendants to more simple designs of china shaped and set in silver. The original pattern of the cutlery or the china is always showcased and always makes for a stunning, one of a kind piece of jewelry.
